THE JOY OF FAITH IN THE FACE OF TRAGEDY

Escape from the violence:

   The angel said to Joseph,

 “Cross the border to Egypt -

   Save the mother and the child from Herod!”  Mt. 2:16-18

‘La Llorona’ at the border:

   A voice was heard at Tijuana

   Sobbing and loudly lamenting:

   She was weeping for her children -

   Because they’re lost.  Mt. 2:16-18

The prophet sees Hope and tragedy:

   Nothing will be the same -

   A sword will pierce her heart. Luke: 2:33-35-38

But Hope with Faith and Love is the core of the story:

   The angels sang at his birth: “With God’s blessing-

   Peace on earth to all.” Luke 2: 8-15

   The Lion and the Lamb will live together as friends. Is. 11:33-38
